We would love to see your work!
We usually hold group exhibitions, in which a range of works are presented exploring a particular theme or idea. These groupings evolve organically, in reponse to the work submitted.
Submitting work for consideration:
To submit work for consideration, send up to ten low res images, each as separate files, with a brief outline of the project, to submissions@viewfinder.org.uk.
If you would like to submit more than one project, please do, but send each in a separate email.
Please note that due to time constraints we are unable to offer individual feedback on submissions.
Fundraising model:
We ask photographers to help us with fundraising to cover the gallery's rent and overheads (but not wages).
Within the fundraising target of £300 per week (shared between all participants involved in an exhibition), we provide the following services:
0% commission on print sales
Design and editing of an exhibition catalogue, available for free on the Viewfinder website, as a display copy in the gallery itself. Photographers are also provided with a pdf if they choose to print additional copies for sale in the gallery, proceeds from which are donated to the gallery. If photographers choose to sell copies through their own websites, the pdf will again be provided
Support with fundraising: production of a pdf outlining the exhibition, to approach potential sponsors with; a pdf outlining the Viewfinder and its activities, including visitor numbers and press coverage; a document with previous photographers' advice and suggestions for fundraising
Marketing and publicity: exhibitions are featured in e-bulletins to 1750+ subscribers; exhibition page on the Viewfinder website (and inclusion in past exhibitions); promotion through our Facebook page and Twitter; design of printed publicity, including flyers and posters
